Merci & love cards

You may be glad for me to take a break from the Emporium paper pack. I have gone in a totally different direction here. Trying the kraft and cranberry red combo again. I like this vintage-y look. My inspiration came from ashleynewell.blogspot.com 03-21-2010 post. Her design was so fabulous I barely changed a thing to make it my own. I really loved everything about this card. I used CTMH stamp sets Serendipity D1275 for the polka dot circle and Just because D1327 for the sentiments. The beautiful background is a SU! stamp.

This is a close up to show the pop dotted layers. It has great texture and levels. Enjoy!

Grateful card

I love this, a 4th project from scraps of the paper bag mini album. You guessed it, more Emporium paper pack scraps. CTMH Vineyard berry ink and ribbon was used. The flowers and the sentiment are from CTMH Treasure life set D1306. This is the first time I have cut the shape with the nestabilities and then left it in place and inked the edges with a sponge. I love the effect. Yahoo! I love learning a new technique. My inspiration for this card design came from Poeticartistry.blogspot.com. Enjoy!

Happy everything card

Again with the scraps from my earlier projects. I made this card with more CTMH Emporium paper pack scraps. The sentiment and cute lil shwoopy are from CTMH With love stamp set D1284 stamped in CTMH Vineyard berry ink. Most all of the flowers are punched with a SU! floral punch. I also used a few other flower punches. The pearls are a past CTMH incentive gift. My inspiration for this card came from Stopandstamptheroses.blogspot.com. She has a very inspiring blog. Enjoy!

For you card and my bow tying steps

This card is made from scraps laying around on my desk. These are pieces from the Emporium paper pack that I used to make the gate fold paper bag album posted yesterday. I ran the yellow scrap through my Cuttlebug in a Sizzix embossing folder before attaching it to the card base. I added a butterfly punched from the new Creative Memories punch and a stamped sentiment from CTMH From me to you set D1247. The inspiration for this card came from inkingidaho.blogspot.com. I have taken extra pictures this time, documenting my process for tying bows and threading ribbon through the bow to attach to the card.

This first photo shows my bow tied around a home made bow easy type tool. I cut it from scavenged acrylic from packaging of pens bought at Sam's club. Recycling at its best. I tied the bow and then ran a dental floss threader through the the back of the bow. Put a second piece of ribbon through the eye of the threader and pull it through the bow.

This is the package of floss threaders I found at Walmart. I wish I remember where I first found this tip, I would love to give credit to them.

The other fabulous thing about bows attached this way is you can scoot them from one end to the other without losing the shape of the bow.

Hope this helps you tie fabulous bows, and use up some scraps in the process. Enjoy!

Another gate fold paper bag mini album

I am addicted to these paper bag albums. This gate fold design found at followingthepapertrail.blogspot.com allows for 32 4x6 photos and 20 2.75x4 inch photos. I used CTMH Emporium paper pack and coordinating stickease. I love how it turned out.

This is the tag pulled form the small pocket. I attached photos on the front and the back.

This is the tag pulled out of the pocket created by the open end of the paper bag. Its approximately 5x7, I did a border punch along one end and a scrap piece of paper edges the other end.

This is the tag pulled out of the pocket created by the open angle of the page attachers. I did the border punch along one end again for continuity. I didn't do a lot of layers of paper to frame the photos because it would add to the overall bulk of the album and I didn't want to burst the sides. It closes nice and flat because it is not over stuffed with embellishments or paper layers.

I had made this album a few weeks ago, but I filled it with the photos this weekend at my friend Karyn's Creative Memories national scrapbook day event. Thanks Karyn, I had a blast and am so happy with the projects completed there. This is a fun lil' mini album to make. I hope you give it a try. Enjoy!

Scallop circle flowers

This is a very different type of card for me....but I kinda like it. I combined 2 different ideas from stampartic.blogspot.com.The flower idea came from 1 card & the card design itself from another, the colors where totally inspired from the old book pages.

This is a close up of the flowers. These are punched from an old book with a 1 and also a 1.75 inch scallop circle. I punched 6 for the small flower and 7 for the larger flower. I used 1 scallop as the base and ran it through my Xyron. Then all the other scallops were folded in half and then folded in thirds. I then inked the edges of each piece and stuck them down to sticky scallop base.

This shows the prima flower and brad through the center of each scallop flower. Also you can see the green punched hearts that I folded in half and ran through my crimper. I stuck them down as leaves under the flowers. These are really fun to make and I think they look amazing. Enjoy!

Glimmer misted daiseys

This is a scrap card. I made it out of pieces left on my desk from recent projects. I had the daisy's left from a cricut project, so I glimmer misted each one a different color. My card design inspiration came from stopandstamptheroses.blogspot.com. Again. I definitely have my favorite blogs I check nearly every day. Her post was a while ago but I had saved the photo on my computer, and now I label the photos with the blog name so I can give credit where credit is due. Enjoy!

Hugs & hearts card

I am loving this SU! raspberry tart paper right now! So pretty and feminine. I made a cricut cut file for all the pieces on this card. The tiny sentiment stamp is from a hero arts set I got this weekend during some retail therapy with my mom. Thanks mom! My design inspiration came from stopandstamptheroses.blogspot.com. Enjoy!

Hot pink celebrate card

This card was made using gorgeous SU! paper and their mat stack was used with a piercing tool to make the holes at the corners of the white paper layer. I water colored the butterflies with SU! crayons and an aqua painter. I cut the butterflies out and pop dotted them up for some dimension, then I added some black gems at the tips of the wings for a touch of bling. My design inspiration came from poppypaperie.typepad.com. I love how it turned out, and as soon as I was done with it I knew the perfect person to give it to. I love when that happens. Enjoy!

Jake's 15th birthday card

Here is the card I made for Jakes 15th birthday. He loves all things hunting and archery and camo, so this is my attempt at a manly card minus ribbon and glitter and all the things I love to use on my creations. I thought the brads from Stampin' Up! kinda looked like targets. My source of inspiration was stamptalkwithtosh.blogspot.com.

Here is the inside view. A combination of Stampin" Up! stamps and Close to my Heart (or CTMH, thats easier for me to type)stamps, and the stars punched from the front papers.

And here is the back view. This is an inside joke because Jake teases all the time "I'm your favorite son, huh mom?" Happy birthday to my sweety. Enjoy!

Disney gate fold paper bag album

This is my Disney gatefold paper bag album. My inspiration came from the followingthepapertrail.blogspot.com. Her video tutorials are awesome! You have to check her out.

There are 6 paper bags making up the pages.

The open end of the bag allows for slipping in a tag for additional photos or journaling.

I cut the tags on my cricut. 3 in. tag for journaling or small photos and a 6 in. tag for photos.

The adorable paper is mostly from a Disney kit by EK Success.

The covers are made from chip board scavenged from Wheat Thins packaging. I am SSSOOOO green!

I included a view over the top of the album. Without photos or other embellishment yet and it is already almost an inch wide. Enjoy!
